Position Overview

Our expanding client in Wexford town is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Technical Sales Project Engineer to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth by assisting the sales team as an Engineering staff member and not a direct sales staff member. The role will involve engaging with clients, understanding their technical requirements and presenting comprehensive full-line solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career development in the field of robotics automation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Understanding and Proficiency

Develop a solid understanding of company product offerings, including their standard robotic systems and a unique capability of creating modular and flexible automated solutions.
Demonstrate proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word to create comprehensive and visually appealing technical documentation.
Generating Costing Sheets by utilising available ERP information & Module Libraries
Technical writing, concept generation and ability to use visual tools to convey the client's requirements.

Sales Support and Proposal Development

Support the sales team in conducting in-depth discussions with clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and pain points.
Utilise AutoCAD and other relevant software to assist in designing preliminary 2D machine layouts, providing clients with a visual representation of proposed solutions.
Assist in creating detailed technical sales proposals, ensuring alignment with clients' requirements.
Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to accurately price projects, considering materials, labour, and associated costs.
Provide clients with immersive visualisations of proposed solutions, showcasing the functionality and benefits. Leverage 3D design or animations to enhance presentations and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline
2+ years of relevant experience
Experience and good understanding of AutoCAD
Strong technical aptitude and interest in robotics and automation
Detail Oriented
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to comprehend and convey technical information effectively
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and eager to learn
Previous experience in sales or customer-facing roles is a plus
Adaptable, flexible, and willing to assist the team in successfully ‘wowing the customer’
Must be able to work with ambiguous information and evolving project specifications within tight deadlines.

Desirable Software Skills (Not Required)

Experience with 2D design software, AutoCAD, Draftsight
Experience with 3D design/modelling software including SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, CREO, 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, etc.
